Miranda's Samples

The style sheet displayed below was created by me for the first book in my Ivy Sherwood Cozy Mystery Series The Case of the Murdered Mistress. Not only was it helpful to keep track of my characters and grammar rules, it came in handy while I outlined and wrote the rest of the series, where the style sheet grew as I added more characters and settings. The length of a style sheet will vary, dependent on your project and which editing service you choose.

The editorial report displayed below was written by me for a fellow indie author, Brenda Morris, after providing developmental and copy/line editing to a short story that would later be published in an anthology collection, Another World: Stories of Portal Fantasy. It is a basic editorial report as Brenda's story was under 5000 words. Dependent on your project and what we agree to before I start editing, the editorial report may be longer.

The style sheet includes all of the style decisions, referencing the Chicago Manual of Style, on hyphenation, capitalization, abbreviations, and numbering, along with details about the main characters, locations, and plot points This keeps everything consistent across the whole project. This is also valuable if you're writing a book series and want to keep track of details across multiple books.
